Croydon Concerto Competition 2019

The CSO is delighted to again be holding our biennial Croydon Concerto Competition in 2019. We aim to support and showcase young soloists through this event. Former winners of previous competitions include Michael Foyle, Peter Foggitt, Jamal Aliyev, Diana Brekalo, Madalina Rusu, Daniel de Borah and Emma Halnan.

The winner receives £1,000 of engagements: including concerto performances with the Croydon Symphony Orchestra, Guildford Symphony Orchestra and Epsom Symphony Orchestra.

The first round and semi-final of the competition took place on Sunday 3rd March, 2019.

As usual the standard was tremendously high and the five successful soloists who will perform
a concerto movement each at the final on 22nd June 2019 are:

Yoanna Prodanova (cello)
Lise Vandersmissen (harp)
Ionel Manciu (violin)
Christos Fountos (piano)
